We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Department of Land Economy - University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Land Society (CULS), Bayfield Training, British Land and Savills for collaborating with us on the case competition. Also a special thank you is necessary to CULS for generously sponsoring all monetary awards for the case competition.
The year's case competition saw 44 participants spread across 11 teams. As advisors in a boutique advisory firm, teams had to advise a high net worth individual who was faced with the dilemma of four different investment opportunities. Investment opportunities this year ranged from student accommodation to warehouse, to more conventional asset classes such as residential and office buildings. The assets were also diverse in terms of geography spreading across the entire United Kingdom.
Ultimately, 4 teams were selected for the final presentation where they had to present their findings to a panel of judges. The year’s panel includes Nick Mansley (Department of Land Economy), Dominic Reilly (CULS), Natalie Bayfield (Bayfield Training), James Rolton (British Land), Lizzie Cullum (Savills) and Richard Jones.
